Frequently Asked Questions

What classes do you run?

We have a regular learn to crochet class plus other occasional workshops in a range of art and crafts. Previously these have included macrame, mindful drawing, weaving, fabric pumpkins, natural christmas wreaths, plant pot painting and many more. I run classes with a flexible approach, meaning you can dip in and out as you like. You can pay as you go or choose a class pack which gives you great savings.

What do I need to bring to classes?

As a learner in crochet classes, please bring your own equipment if you have it. I will have a small amount of equipment to borrow on the night if you do not have your own. Please bring a crochet pattern or book if there is something specific you wish to learn. Beginners/Improvers workbooks are provided when purchasing a 4 class course. Please bring your own materials for Chat and Craft bookings. A complimentary tea or coffee is often available or may be possible to purchase at the venue depending on the location, though you may wish to bring a drink/snack. You may wish to bring a notebook and pen to record any notes. All materials are provided in other craft workshops unless stated otherwise in the booking information.

Can I buy equipment from you?

I sell New Starter Kits at crochet classes costing £8 which includes a beginners workbook, beginner friendly hook and yarn and darning needle. If you wish to keep a hook/yarn to practice with between crochet sessions, I may have a small amount of preloved items to purchase for a small contribution (usually 50p-£1). I provide beginners and improvers workbooks when you book a 4 class course, or you may buy these separately for £5. I provide my own easy use crochet patterns for £2 and may have a small selection of patterns purchased from other makers. You are also welcome to bring along your own patterns.

Do you sell your own products?

I sell a range of craft kits, crochet patterns, workbooks and wellbeing products on my website www.createwellproject.com. I make handmade and digitally drawn artwork and incorporate this in postcards, stationery and jewellery.

Can you make something for me?

I am happy to consider all creative commissions. I make crochet items, rosettes and chalk board style signs. I offer graphic design including logo making, social media graphics, brand products e.g certificates, leaflets, business cards. Contact me with your enquiries.

Do you teach private lessons?

Yes, I can teach a variety of art and crafts as a private lesson, these start at £25 per hour. This can include 1:1, semi private or private bookings for a group. For example you may wish to book, drawing technique, polymer clay, macrame, painting, jewellery making or many more. I can tailor your lesson to a specific technique or project if you wish. You can provide your own materials or I can source these for you at additional cost.

Can you teach my child?

Absolutely, children are welcome at all of my workshops but must be accompanied by an adult. Some crafts may not be suitable for very young children, please ask before booking if you are unsure. I am happy to teach private lessons to children, but this must occur at your home with an  adult present in the home at all times.

Are you DBS checked and insured?

Yes I hold a full disclosure Data and Barring Service Clearance enabling me to work with children and vulnerable adults. I hold public liability insurance for both face painting and art and craft events.

Are you an inclusive business?

I aim to be as inclusive as possible and welcome all creatives to my classes. I have worked in education and SEN for around 14 years and I am a patient and understanding teacher. I have lots of knowledge and enthusiasm for creating with people with a range of needs. If you need me to take a consideration into account, such as a seat in a quieter area, an adaption to a craft or worksheet or want to attend for a shorter session, feel free to chat to me and I will do my very best to accommodate. I hire rooms that are wheelchair accessible, or with lift access for those with mobility difficulties.

Would you run an activity for a community group?

I love to work with community groups and run classes adapted to suit the group. I have previously worked with adults with additional needs and a fibromyalgia support group. Please contact me with your enquiries.

What about an activity for my hen do, party or wedding?

Yes absolutely, I can create a custom package to cater to your requirements. Contact me for a quote.

Do you do children’s parties?

Can you face paint and/or provide festival glitter my child’s birthday party, wedding or hen do?

What are your prices for face painting?
